Before you start your application
We understand that every family’s circumstances are unique. To apply for a grant, we require applicants to demonstrate genuine financial hardship and a clear link to Stokenchurch or the surrounding area. Our application process is straightforward:
STEP 1: Complete Online Application- this asks for information about you, the applicant, your family and your financial circumstances. As part of this process, you will be asked to provide evidence in support of the figures included (such as evidence of accommodation costs where you are asking for financial assistance to help cover the cost), and evidence of family income in the form of tax returns or P60s/ payslips for yourself or your parents or guardians. We also ask for information about your specific circumstances. Please note, the trust is dedicated to supporting as many beneficiaries as possible. To ensure that everyone is given the same opportunities, and to maximise the funding available to all beneficiaries, the trustees expect beneficiaries to take any student loans that they are eligible for, before calculating the shortfall in funding being applied for. If you choose not to take a student loan, please note that the trustees will be required to treat you as being eligible for this additional funding when considering your financial circumstances.
STEP 2: All applications are considered on an individual basis. If you have successfully been shortlisted, you will be invited for an interview with several of the trustees, so we can get a better understanding of your circumstances and how we can help going forward.
STEP 3: If you are successful at interview then you will be asked to provide your ID and payment details (or any other financial information required in keeping with the agreed grant). Funding usually commences at the start of the academic year, although applications for funding outside of these timescales will be considered on a case by case basis.
